Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks), melted
  • 1 cup granulated  sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ½ cups flour


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Melt the butter and add to a medium-sized bowl. Beat in sugars.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla until incorporated (about 15-30 seconds).
  4. Beat in dry flour mixture. If dough becomes tough, mix in later parts with a spatula.
  5. Roll into balls and place 9 on a 9×13 baking pan and bake 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat until all cookies are made.
