Red Velvet Brownies with White Chocolate Icing

:)

Hello all!

When most people think of “red velvet” they think cake. But, what about cookies, cheesecake, or even brownies? Well I have a recipe for Red Velvet Brownies! 🙂 Also, most people put a cream cheese icing on their red velvet cake, but I decided to make a white chocolate icing to put on my red velvet brownies. Lets just say these are delicious!! 🙂

Ingredients

Red Velvet Brownies:

5 1/2 Tbsp Cocoa

2 tsp vanilla

1 oz red food coloring

3/4 Cup (1 1/2 sticks) of unsalted butter (room temp)

2 1/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 1/2 cups of flour

1/4 tsp salt

White Chocolate Icing:

1/2 Cup melted white chocolate

1/2 Cup (1 stick) of  unsalted butter (room temp)

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup milk

2-4 cups powdered sugar

Directions

First things first, preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).

Sift together the dry ingredients: 2 1/2 cups of flour and 1/2 tsp of salt.

Mix together cocoa, 2 tsp vanilla, and a 1 oz jar of red food coloring.

Add fours eggs and 1/2 tsp vanilla. 20130721-112457.jpg

Then, add that chocolately paste you made earlier. 20130721-112558.jpg

Now, you have some red batter! Red just makes it look SO much yummier for some reason.

Now add the flour mixture.

Pour the batter into a pan lined with alluminum foil. Then, bake for 25-35 mins or until nothing sticks to your toothpick.

(Like how I baked the brownies in a red pan?) As you can tell… I pooked it with a lot of toothpicks.

Now make your icing. Melt the chocolate and mix it with the butter. Add the vanilla and milk, and then add enough powderd sugar to get the consistency you want. 🙂

THEN ICE THEM 🙂

Enjoy!

I took these beauties into work one day and everyone loved them!! Even more reason for you to bake them, so then you can take them into work. 🙂
